ABOUT US
Taunton DECA History
DECA, standing for Distributive Educational Clubs of America, officially began in 1946 with its recognition as a national organization by the United States Office of Education. As of now, DECA is made of over 258,000 devoted members, spanning 3,956 chapters across the globe.
Taunton DECA has a long history, gaining a reputation for its large chapter size and frequent large number of qualifiers for both SCDC and ICDC. Our chapter has also contributed over $20,000 to The Muscle Dystrophy Association throughout the years, with our most notable means of funding being Miles for MDA and our "Shamrock Sale."

Now, our team members continue to work hard to ensure bountiful success for our present and future competitors. Within the 2024 - 2025 school year, our leadership team has organized several events such as Miles for MDA, a community-wide fundraiser around the Taunton High track; an induction ceremony to elevate the feeling of being an official DECA member; unofficial competitions for Taunton Middle Schools; and so much more! Moreover, our chapter provides annual city recognition for senior members and scholarships awarded to dedicated members seeking a business career.
